Internship Position: Social Impact & Development Intern
About 4th Wheel Social Impact
4th Wheel was founded in 2010 with an ambitious vision to strengthen social development programs. Over the years, we have worked with government entities, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), social enterprises, and corporate foundations. These experiences have helped us understand the importance of strategic program design, robust implementation, performance monitoring, impact evaluation, and structured program documentation. We offer three core areas of support to organizations involved in socio-economic development: social impact management, communication for development (Com4Dev), and capacity development for implementation and management staff.
About The Role
We are seeking motivated and detail-oriented interns who are passionate about social impact and development. Interns will support ongoing projects through research, field coordination, data management, analysis, documentation, and communication tasks. This internship offers hands-on experience in understanding development programs and working closely with diverse stakeholders.
Resposibilities
1. Research & Analysis
Conduct secondary research on social development themes, communities, and sectoral trends.
Assist in designing research tools such as surveys, interview guides, and focus group discussion outlines.
Support in analysing qualitative and quantitative data.
2. Monitoring & Evaluation Support
Assist in performance monitoring activities and data collection.
Support impact evaluation studies including field visits, stakeholder interactions, and documentation.
3. Field Coordination
Coordinate with implementation partners, community members, and project teams.
Assist in planning and managing field activities, assessments, and training sessions (if applicable).
4. Communication for Development (Com4Dev)
Support creation of content for reports, case studies, photo stories, and social media communication.
Assist in designing communication materials such as presentations, infographics, or training content.
5. Documentation & Reporting
Prepare project documentation, meeting notes, progress updates, and structured reports.
Organise and maintain project files, data sets, and documentation archives.
Qualification
Educational Background
Students pursuing Master’s or Bachelor’s in Social Work, Sociology, Development Studies, Economics, Public Policy, Communications, or related fields.
Required Skills
Strong research and writing skills.
Basic understanding of social development and impact evaluation concepts.
Good communication and coordination abilities.
Proficiency in MS Office/Google Workspace (Excel, Sheets, Docs, Slides).
Ability to work independently and in teams.
Preferred Skills (Plus Point)
Experience with data analysis tools (SPSS, Excel, PowerBI, etc.).
Exposure to fieldwork or community engagement.
Graphic designing or content creation skills (for Com4Dev projects).

Recruitment Process
