Format: Moderated practitioner panel with Q&A

Duration: 90 minutes

Expected outcome: Participants will gain a practical understanding of how AI is being used across the evaluation lifecycle and where human oversight remains critical.

This moderated practitioner session explores how AI is reshaping the day-to-day work of evaluators across the full evaluation lifecycle. Using practical examples from education and skill development evaluations, the session will compare how evaluation work was carried out earlier and how similar tasks are increasingly being undertaken now with AI-supported methods.

Rather than focusing only on tools, the session will show how workflows are changing in areas such as theory of change development, outcome and indicator design, tool preparation, data synthesis, analysis, and reporting. Speakers representing different roles in the evaluation process will reflect on what has changed in their work, what has improved, and where human judgment remains essential.
